Stainless Steels Supplier - Descriptions , Specifications , Grades and Properties : 

Stainless Steels consist a range of corrosion resistant steels that contains a minimum of 11% Chromium. The mechanical and physical properties of te steel can be changed by the chromium content and the adding of other chemical elements such as Nickel, Molybdenum, Titanium and Niobium. 
There are a number of stainless steel grades that are covered by a range of national and international standards. 
Stainless Steel can be grouped into five categories : Austenitic Stainless Steel , Ferritic Stainless Steel , Duplex Stainless Steel , Martensitic Stainless Steel &amp; Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel. 
<ul>
<li>Common Austenitic Stainless Steels are SUS304 , SUS316 &amp; SUS303 - Excellent corrosion resistance &amp; weldability, non-magnetic when annealed. </li>
<li>Common Ferricitic Stainless Steels are SUS430, SUS409 - Magnetic , cannot be hardened by heat treatment &amp; poor weldability for most grades. </li>
<li>Common Duplex Stainless Steels are 2205 Stainless Steel (S31803) - Good resistance to stress corrosion cracking , good weldability &amp; good formablity. </li>
<li>Common Martensitic Stainless Steels are SUS420 , 440C - Magnetic , heat treatable but poor weldability </li>
<li>Common Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel are 17-4PH (SUS630) - Magnetic , good weldability and very high strength and good weldability. </li>

Features of Martensitic Stainless Steel (Magnetic Stainless Steel) includes : 
<ul>
<li>Moderate corrosion resistance </li>
<li>Able to Heat treated </li>
<li>Magnetic </li>
<li>Not able to be cold formed </li>
<li>Poor Weldability </li>
</ul>
Common Martensitic Stainless Steel includes Stainless Steel 420 (SUS420) , which is used in engineering applications such as shaft &amp; Stainless Steel 440 (SUS440C) , which is the hardest and most abrasion resistant of all the stainless steel.

Alloy Steels Properties : 
Alloy steels are designated by AISI four-digit numbers and comprise different kinds of steels, each with a composition which exceeds the limitations of B, C, Mn, Mo, Ni, Si, Cr, and Va set for carbon steels.

Carbon Steel are iro-carbon alloys containing up to 2.06% of carbon , up to 1.65% of maganese , up to 0.5% of silicon and sulfur and phosphorus as impurities. 
Carbon Content in Carbon Steel determines its strength and ductility. 
The higher carbon content , the higher steel strength and the lowers its ductility. 

It can be classified into : 
<ul>
<li>Low Carbon Steel : C &lt;0.25% , Good Formality and Weldability , low strength and low costs , can be used in machinery parts </li>
<li>Medium Carbon Steel : C=0.25% to 0.55% , May be hardened by quenching , can be used in heat treated machine parts </li>
<li>High Carbon Steel : C&gt;0.55% , High Strength and wear resistance , can be used in screw drivers , hammers , etc. </li>
</ul>

Titanium is considered to be one of the strongest metals. Its strength, heat, water and salt resistance, and its light weight make it the ideal metal for a variety of applications. These applications range from jewelry and dental implants to airplanes and ships.

Titanium can be classified into : 
Commercially Pure Titanium (CP Titanium) : 
<ul>
<li>Titanium Grade 1 , Titanium Grade 2 , Titanium Grade 3 , Titanium Grade 4 - Titanium Grade 1 has the highest corrosion resistance , formability , and lowest strength - Titanium Grade 4 offers the highest strength with moderate formability. </li>
</ul>
Titanium Alloys : 
<ul>
<li>Titanium Grade 5 (Ti 6AL-4V) , Titanium Grade 23 (TI 6AL-4V ELI) , Titanium Grade 12 (Ti 3AL 2.5) , Titanium Grade 6 (Ti 5AL-2.5Sn) - Titanium Alloys retain the same strength and corrosion resistance, but takes on the greater flexibility and malleability of the metal it is combined with. Titanium alloys, therefore, have more applications than pure titanium.</li>

Types of Nickel Alloys : 
Nickel will alloy easily with most of the metals like copper , chromium , iron and molybdenum. 
By adding the nickel to other metals , it will alter the properties of the resulting alloy and can be used to produce desired charateristics. Desired Characteristics such as improved corrosion or oxidation resistance , increased high-temperature performance, or lower coefficients of thermal expansion, etc. 

A range of suitable applications : 
It is suitable to use in industries or applications such as Aircraft Gas Turbines , Steam Turbines in Power Plants , Extensive use in the energy and nuclear power markets. Reason being is nickel alloys have high versatility , combined with its outstanding heat and corrosion resistance.

Plastic Mould Steel Properties : 
Plastic Mould Steels are designed to be suitable for plastic injection moulding dies and zinc die casting. 
Pre-hardened plastic mould steels are widely used for manufacturing mould for plastic because of their four main properties and characteristics:

<li>Corrosion Resistance</li>
<li>Mirror Finishability</li>
<li>Surface Workability</li>
</ul>
These steels are quenched and tempered before being manufactured into mould for plastic, therefore the deformation and cracking of mould resulted from heat treatment can be avoided.
